HERITAGE BANK & TRUST SECURITY POLICY
Heritage Bank & Trust ("Heritage") uses several layers of technology
to ensure the confidentiality of your transactions.
Browser Encryption
For your protection, Heritage’s Online Banking requires 128-bit browser
encryption. This industry standard prevents the possible interception of
your personal financial information over the Internet. Secure browsers
employ Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) technology to communicate with
servers. This technology encrypts - or scrambles - your account
information so it's virtually impossible for anyone other than Heritage
to read it.
Heritage’s Online Banking supports an Internet Explorer browser version
4.0 or higher. This browser version helps protect your personal
financial information. Most browsers display an icon to indicate that
data sent through the website is encrypted, two examples of which are
the locked padlock icon and the key icon. These icons signify that
Secure Socket Layer encryption (SSL) is used on the site.

Secure Login
No one at Heritage will ever ask for you r password. Protecting
your personal password is important to the security of your account.
Please never share your password with anyone.
Secure Environment
Only our bank customers or administrators can send or receive
transactions to or from Heritage’s computer. Our computer system does
not directly connect to the Internet. It is isolated by a ‘firewall” of
software and hardware products that limit the access from “outside”
computers.
E-mail Communications
For your protection, we recommend that you do not e-mail account
numbers, debit card numbers, passwords, or other critical financial
information. We cannot guarantee the security of standard e-mail
communication.
